Come to this house, into this house

Lisa's brother, Joe, is in town for a couple of days. Last night we took him out for his birthday dinner at this wonderful Italian restaurant in Little Falls (technically Singac) called Bellissimo's. This was the second time that Lisa and I ate there, and I don't think we ordered from the menu either time. The specials are fantastic and the food is simply very high quality. Joe was in complete agreement.

Tonight, my sister Diane and her family are coming over for a nice dinner to meet Joe and experience his great cooking as well. Then tomorrow I'll try to get psyched again for that damn open jam session!

Tonight's (not) the night..

Well, the open jam turned out to be a total bust. For starters, Google Maps sent me to the wrong part of Boonton Ave to find this place. Eventually I got there, but apparently the drummer (and all of his equipment) was running late. After waiting there for an hour, he still never showed up so I bailed. I didn't go out there to watch an acoustic jam. So, suffice it to say I was quite disappointed. No matter, though. I'll give them another shot next week and look up some other places as well.

It's really here!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the sectional has landed. It definitely fills up the room, that's for sure. There still is plenty of space to walk around though so it doesn't seem that bad. Now we can finally vegetate properly in front of said television.

UPDATE: They got the throw pillow fabric wrong on 3 of the pillows (perhaps you can tell by the fact that all of the pillows look exactly like the sectional). Can you believe that this package got ordered incorrectly twice? Now we have to chase them yet again to get what we ordered in the first place back in March. It never ends..

Time for a cat thread

Allow me to introduce the elder feline, Moon (take a wild guess at the namesake). He was feeling especially interactive today, so I thought I'd capture the moment for posterity.

In the Attic, In the Pub, In the City

I'm happy to report that we'll be seeing Rachel Fuller and the Atticers at Joe's Pub in NYC on September 14th. Take a ride to Attic Intravision to get a taste of what we're in for.

(Hat tip to In the Attic for the graphic. How can you not love that?)

Gettin' that itch..

Well, after a few months off, I think it's time to look into some local open jam sessions again and help keep those chops fresh. I found a couple in the local area which I'll check out in the near future, and we'll see how that goes.

5-day Countdown..

It's quite hard to believe that we're now only 5 (count 'em, 5) days away from receiving our Henredon sectional that we originally ordered only five months ago from Boyles in North Carolina. Of course, we did get an earlier delivery in May, but Boyles got the order wrong, so we had to refuse the delivery. I'm hoping that any diety paying attention will ensure that this order comes in correctly without any defects. When we look into getting a bigger sofa for downstairs (aka cat country), I think we might be better off with a local dealer instead. Ya think?

Clear for launch

OK - don't expect anything too prolific right now. After all, this thing just got off the ground.
